The MX915 and MX925 are remarkably similar: they have the same processor (ARM11 32-bit RISC), the same capacity for memory storage, and both accept more or less the same payment methods. The main difference between the MX915 and the MX925 is the screen size. Whereas the MX915 has a 4.3-inch screen, the MX925’s screen is a whopping 7 inches, listed on the official Verifone data sheet as “the largest and highest-resolution display in the industry.” The MX925 is also a slightly larger device overall that comes with a full stereo audio feature instead of the MX915’s single speaker option.

  1.  Begin by assembling your MX915 setup. In this case, that means the terminal itself, as well as an ethernet cable, the communications module, and your device’s 12v power adapter.
  2. There is a space on the back side of your terminal where the communications module can be plugged in. Turn your device over and insert the module into the open space with the tabs facing upward. Once the module has clicked into place, you’ll know it has been properly inserted.
  3. Insert your Ethernet cable and power adapter into the communications module.
  4. Plug the Ethernet cable and power source into a working power outlet.
  5. Once turned on, your MX915 terminal will start to boot up. Upon booting up, it will display an activation code, at which point you’ll be ready to pair your device and connect with your local network.

The Verifone MX915 was declared End Of Life in 2022.

The Verifone MX915 has a smaller screen than the Verifone M400: 4.3 inches instead of the M400’s 5 inches. The MX915 also works with an ARM11 32-bit RISC processor, whereas the M400 comes equipped with an ARM Cortex A9 processor. The M400 is also a more compact payment tool in terms of its physical dimensions, and it comes with both an audio jack and split screen capabilities, neither of which are offered with the MX915.

On the back of your Verifone MX915 device, there will be a white label that starts with the letters “S/N,” followed by a series of numerical digits separated by dashes. This is your device’s serial number.
