Frequently Asked Questions

Begin by attaching the utility cable. Place your device upside-down on a flat, stable surface and firmly press the flexible tabs while pushing up to remove the communications module. Securely hold the module and slide out the metal plate. Connect the utility cable to the communications module, then slide the metal plate back into place. Reinsert the communications module until both tabs click into position.

Next, connect the Verifone Mx925 to your network. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into an available port on your router or switch and the other into the Ethernet port on the utility cable. If no Ethernet port is available, your POS can share a network connection with your device. To do this, connect one end of the Ethernet cable to your POS and the other to an available Ethernet port on your multiport cable.

Attach the power adapter to ensure the communications module is securely in place. Insert the 12V power adapter into the +12VDC port on the utility cable, then plug it into a power outlet to turn on the device. Confirm that it boots up and is ready to use; it is set to receive a dynamic IP address by default.

Check the internet connection by going to the home screen, pressing 000, entering the default passcode (9416557), and pressing Enter. Verify that an IP address is displayed.

Proceed with a gateway connection test. From the home screen, press 000, enter the passcode, press Enter, select Network, then tap Test. Ensure all tests pass successfully.

Next, configure your POS using your Merchantware credentials: Merchantware name, SiteID, Key, and the device’s IP address or hostname.

Finally, conduct a test transaction on your POS to verify the device’s correct configuration. If the test transaction is successful, cancel it and begin processing live sales. If unsuccessful, contact Support at 888.249.3220 for assistance.

Simultaneously press the keys 1, 5, and 9. After a few seconds, when the password screen appears, press X. On the Select Option Key screen that follows, press 1. The terminal will take approximately 30 seconds to respond and initiate a reboot, which lasts about 3 minutes. Alternatively, you can reset the device by disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord.
