The MagTek Magstripe Swipe Card Reader does not come with Bluetooth capabilities.
The Magtek Magstripe Swipe readers usually do not need to be charged since they are powered through the device they’re connected to, giving them the necessary power to operate without needing an internal battery or any charging.
The card reading LED indicator is positioned on the upper left side of the MSR rail. When the light is off, the power is off. A solid green light indicates readiness to read checks or cards. A transition from off to solid red confirms a successful read. Flashing red or green signals a blocked data sensor, preventing the motor from running. Flashing red indicates a blocked motor sensor, which also stops motor function. Swipe the magnetic stripe card through the MSR in one direction only, ensuring the correct orientation of the magnetic stripe. The MSR supports ISO, AAMVA, and CDL-encoded cards. To prevent data corruption, avoid pressing keys on another keyboard connected to the same host while data transmission is ongoing. Clean the card path exclusively with approved cleaning cards to avoid damaging the read head. Never use liquid cleaning products or insert foreign objects into the device. Keep the card reader at least 6 inches from computer monitors or power supplies to avoid potential interference.
After adjusting settings, you can activate the updated values using the Reset (RS) command: <ESC>RS<CR>. Following the transmission of <ACK> (acknowledgment), the Reader undergoes a soft reset and, when enabled (SA-6), transmits the sign-on ID message: <ACK>21088838A00<CR>. The carriage return (CR) is included in this response only if the function is enabled (SB-0).
